I got this question from a Client who was wondering.

Do I have to sand my hardwood floor if I can’t get the dark gray stain out with over the counter products? I answer it this way…

In many cases once the floor board is gray or black the urine has gone from the top surface into the wood fiber itself.
this is because the urine have penetrated beneath the finish, it collects and absorbs, once that happens the word swells and then drys, once it’s dries, it turns color. Depending on how frequently the pet has gone back to that area, will determine the extent of the damage. Eihter way to bring the wood floor back to life, you’ll need to sand it.

I recommend No Dust Hardwood Floor Sanding, in some cases if the urine stain is light, you may be able to use No Dust Wood Floor Refinishing. No Dust Hardwood Floor Refinishing will a braid the top surface only, in light urine concerns, that may get the job done. It also cost less as compared to full sanding. But if the floor is too far gone, sanding it the only option. Sometimes we’ve seen board that were completely damaged and needed to be replaced. So have a wood floor specialist to evaluate your concern. You can get more info at www.beautifulwoodfloors.com
